Itinerary

Begin your yatra with pickup from Delhi in the morning. Drive via Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Roorkee to reach Haridwar, the gateway to Uttarakhand’s holy shrines. After check-in, attend the famous Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, where thousands of diyas float across the holy Ganges, creating a divine atmosphere. Explore Mansa Devi & Chandi Devi temples or the local bazaar.

After breakfast, drive to Barkot, the base town for Yamunotri. The route passes through Dehradun and Mussoorie bypass, moving along the Yamuna Valley with beautiful pine forests and terraced fields. Evening at leisure.

Early morning, drive to Janki Chatti (36 km) and start the 6 km trek to Yamunotri Temple. Pilgrims can use pony/doli/helicopter options if required. Take a holy dip in Surya Kund hot spring and worship at Divya Shila before darshan at Yamunotri Temple. Return to Barkot by evening.

Frequently Asked & Question

Delhi is one of the major departure points for the Char Dham Yatra. Pilgrims usually travel from Delhi to Haridwar or Dehradun by road, train, or flight before beginning the Himalayan pilgrimage circuit.

A complete Char Dham Yatra from Delhi generally takes 10 to 12 days by road. The duration may vary depending on weather conditions, travel pace, and temple darshan time. Helicopter packages can complete the yatra in 3 to 5 days.

The common route followed is: Delhi → Haridwar → Yamunotri → Gangotri → Kedarnath → Badrinath → Delhi The journey is traditionally done in a clockwise direction, starting from Yamunotri and ending at Badrinath.

The yatra usually opens in April/May and closes around October/November. The best months to travel are May–June and September–October, as the monsoon season (July–August) can cause landslides and road disruptions.
